Prohibited Content in Messages
In order to comply with federal laws, our communications partner Twilio doesn’t allow certain types of content to be used on their platform. This means that we have to block outgoing SMSs that contain these types of content.
Examples of prohibited content include:
- Cannabis. Even though many states have legalized cannabis, federal laws in the United States prohibit its sale. Therefore, messages relating to the sales and marketing of cannabis are not allowed.
- Prescription medication. Messages containing offers for prescription medication that can’t legally be sold over-the-counter are prohibited.
- Hate speech, harassment, exploitative, abusive, or any communications that originate from a hate group.
Fraudulent messages. - Malicious content, such as malware or viruses.
If you have any questions about these types of content, please get in touch with support and we’ll do our best to help.
