Registering With Phone Carriers can send SMS notifications – such as appointment reminders – to all your patients from the get-go without any extra effort on your part. If you want a more enriched SMS experience with two-way patient conversations, however, you’ll need to enable Phone Services.

Phone Services within allows you to communicate with patients via SMS and make phone calls directly from their charts using a new custom phone number. SMS conversations and phone call logs are tracked on your patient’s chart and in your Messages Inbox.

Before you can enable Phone Services, however, you first need to register with the phone carriers. To do this, you need to send them your business information, which can take a few weeks to process.

The good news is that you can do this directly inside

Here’s how:

  • From your dashboard, click on Account, then Business Information.
  • On this page, make sure that all of your business information - including business details and authorized representative - is correct.
  • Once you’re happy with your selection, select Start Phone Carrier Registration.
  • Review your details a final time, then click Start Carrier Registration.
  • Your registration is now in process. We’ll let you know via email when the process is finished, or if we require extra documents or information.

Note: If you only plan on sending SMS notifications (like appointment reminders) through, then you don’t have to go through this process. Only process with phone carrier registration if you plan on having SMS-based conversations with patients.
