Summarizing Transcripts With AI

Atlas.md AI automatically summarizes audio transcripts the moment they’re uploaded to a patient’s chart. This provides a clear and concise overview of the conversation without any extra steps.

When you upload an audio file, Atlas.md transcribes it in the background and instantly generates AI output based on the type of recording:

• Doctor–patient conversations produce an AI SOAP Note
• Other audio types (like staff updates or voicemails) produce an AI Summary

Once processing is complete, you’ll see an AI Summary button appear next to the audio file. Click it to view the summary, review the details, and decide whether to use it as-is or make quick edits before saving.

If you prefer to generate or refine a summary manually, you can still do that anytime:

• Click the AI button on the right side of the patient’s chart, then select Summarize Audio
• In the AI Actions pop-up, review the content, choose the desired AI action, and click Process with AI

• Once you’re satisfied, select Add Note to create a top-level chart note, or Add to Thread to keep it attached to the original audio entry
• To make changes before saving, click Edit AI Results

Your summarized conversation will always appear in the same thread as the audio file and its transcript for easy reference.
