What If I Don't Have Phone Services Enabled?

You might wonder what happens if you either don’t have phone services enabled, or you have phone services enabled but don’t have all the forwarding preferences set.

If you don’t enable Phone Services, you won’t be able to have a two-way SMS conversation or call your patients directly from Atlas.md.

However, you will still be able to send SMS notifications such as appointment reminders.

So if you want to correspond effectively with your patients, then it’s advisable to turn on Phone Services. If you only intend on sending SMS notifications, you don’t need to worry about it!

Note: before you can enable Phone Services for your account, you first have to register with the phone carriers. Luckily, you can do this directly within your Atlas.md account. Check out this support article for steps on how to do it.

If you have Phone Services enabled, but not the proper forward numbers set, the messages and calls will end up in limbo; they’ll get completely ignored!

If this is the case for your account, Atlas.md will notify you and remind you to set these preferences.
