How to Enable and Set Up Your Mailbox
The Atlas Mailbox lets you connect your email account to Atlas.md. You have the option of connecting directly with your Google Workspace/Gmail account, your Microsoft365/Outlook.com account, or a separate IMAP connection.
After selecting which mailbox you’d like to connect, Atlas.md parses messages to and from your patients and sends them straight to the application, allowing you a super-easy way to keep track of your communication with your patients.
Connecting to Google and Microsoft Mailboxes
If you use Gmail or Microsoft as your regular email client, you can connect in the following way:
- Head to your account profile using the sidebar navigation inside the EMR
- Click “Mailbox” for more settings options
- Choose Gmail or Outlook.com, then follow the prompts to connect your mailbox
Connecting to IMAP
If you’re using an IMAP connection:
- Head to your account profile using the sidebar navigation inside the EMR
- Click “Mailbox” for more settings options
- Choose “Connect to IMAP”
- Enter the IMAP server, your username, and password, then click “Connect Account”

Find your email provider in the list below, and follow the instructions, including server settings, port numbers, and security preferences.
If you don’t use any of the recommended email providers below, please contact your IT team to figure out how you should set up IMAP.
