Adding a New Practice Location

Atlas.md can scale with your practice when you open a new location. This walks you through turning on the feature and assigning users, patients, and inventory to each spot.

Enabling a new location

  1. Go to Account > Settings.
  2. Find the Branch Locations pane.
  3. Click the plus sign icon in the upper right.

  1. Enter the new branch information.

You can add and manage as many locations as you’d like from this pane.

Assigning users to a location

Every user in your account must belong to a location. Only a user with administrative privileges can make this change.

  1. Go to Account > Users.
  2. Click the edit icon to the far right of the user’s name.
  3. Choose a location from the Location drop-down.

If you’re not sure who has admin rights, see how user roles differ.

Assigning patients to a location

Every patient must belong to a location too. If a patient has a primary doctor, the patient takes on that doctor’s location automatically.

You don’t have to keep them matched, though. A patient can be assigned to whichever location is most convenient for them, even if their primary doctor works somewhere else.

How location inventory works

Each location keeps its own separate inventory. The Inventory page has filters so you can view stock per location.

When you dispense medication, Atlas.md respects the inventory listed for that location. A doctor who belongs to multiple locations can pick which location to dispense from.

If you prescribe or dispense from a location that doesn’t match the patient’s location, Atlas.md asks you to confirm before continuing. Follow the on-screen prompt to confirm and keep going.

Where else location shows up

Once multiple locations are enabled, location-based logic appears throughout Atlas.md, including small details:

  • Shipment calculations use the patient’s location as the sender address.
  • Billing invoices show the information for the patient’s assigned location.
  • Your Calendar displays location information.
