Atlas Balance
Help Center
Is This a Business Account or a Personal Account?
Atlas Balance is a business financial account provided in partnership with Stripe Treasury and its bank partners.
It's opened in the name of your clinic's legal entity, not as a personal account. That means it uses your business information—like your EIN and registered business name—rather than your personal Social Security Number.
Funds in your Atlas Balance account are legally owned by the business. Deposits are held with Stripe's partner banks on behalf of your business.
This helps keep personal and clinic finances separate, which is important for bookkeeping, tax reporting, and compliance.
Can I Use It for Personal Expenses?
No. Atlas Balance is only for business activity. Using it for personal purchases or deposits can create accounting issues and may affect your account eligibility.
How Do I Pay Myself From Atlas Balance?
The right way to move money into your personal account is by transferring funds.
From the Account page, click Send Funds.
Add your personal bank account as an External Individual Account, then transfer money from your Atlas Balance to yourself. This way, your clinic revenue stays organized while you still get paid.
For more information about how to do this, check out our support article on transferring funds.
